Restore Justice leads trips to Springfield each legislative session. Join us to educate legislators about criminal justice reform and advocate for the return of second chances in Illinois. We don’t have any trips planned right now but please check back!
Attendees receive coaching and materials to help them seek out and effectively speak with legislators. They are paired with experienced advocates as they navigate the Capitol.
Meals are provided, and transportation to and from Springfield is available. All participants also receive a Restore Justice T-shirt designed by a current Illinois inmate.
Below is a typical Advocacy Day itinerary.
A light breakfast and boxed lunches will be available for attendees en route to Springfield.
Participants will meet in the rotunda of the Illinois State Capitol building (401 S 2nd St, Springfield, IL) upon arrival for a brief orientation.
Working in small teams, participants will seek out and educate legislators on issues relating to criminal justice reform. Fact sheets and other materials will be provided.
Participants will reconvene to share their experiences.
Advocacy day concludes.
